Can you show me what my smile can look like ahead of time with imaging software?

Yes, our imaging software will help you see your smile before we begin any actual procedures. We also will do a study model that you can try in your mouth to determine if you will like the results.

At what age should my children first see a dentist?

We recommend that children see a dentist around the age of 2. We also recommend that, for your child�s first visit, he or she comes in with a parent or a sibling so they can model the procedures done and see that going to the dentist does not need to be a scary experience.

Do you accept my insurance plan?

We accept any dental insurance plan that allows you to select your dentist. We also specifically accept Delta insurance. Our office is well-versed on various dental insurance plans and will be happy to assist you with any additional questions.

What do I do if I have an emergency when the office is closed?

Emergencies occur all to often outside of regular office hours. In the event of an emergency when our office is closed, please call our office. Our answering machine provides an emergency phone number that you can call, which is Dr. Scott�s cell phone number.

I have a temporary crown in my mouth. What happens if it comes off or breaks?

At your dental appointment, we will give you instructions on what to do if your temporary crown comes off or breaks. If it does, you should keep your tooth clean. For esthetic concerns, you can put Fixodent on and put the crown back into place until you return to our office. If you are experiencing any pain or sensitivity when your crown comes off or breaks, please call our office immediately.

How can I safely whiten my teeth?

We offer two whitening systems in our office: the Crest Whitestrips (professional strength) and the Colgate Platinum custom trays.

My gums bleed after I brush. Is this something to be concerned about?

Bleeding gums are not normal! It could be the result of brushing too hard or could be an early sign of gingivitis. Please contact our office if your gums are bleeding.

I really do not like visiting the dentist, is there anything you can do to help me relax?

It is normal to feel apprehensive about visiting the dentist. We provide a variety of ways for you to feel comfortable in our office, including headphones with music or oral medication to help you relax. We also believe that the friendly atmosphere we provide our patients will quickly take away those feelings � you can relax as we talk about the events of our day!

Do I have to floss every day? Is it really that important?

Flossing is a crucial element of your overall dental health. There is a good saying in dentistry about flossing: Only floss the ones you want to keep!

I want my front teeth to look better, but I do not want to wear braces. What would you recommend?

We provide several alternatives to braces. Among them, we recommend bonding procedures or porcelain veneers. Please contact our office so that we can further discuss non-orthodontic options for your smile.
